The middle

Where they agree

  • Both back child tax credits, for different uses. Lee's page says she "championed the permanent tax relief provisions recently enacted by Congress", including "a doubled child tax credit".2 People says "Robert would like to propose child tax credits to cover school meals."3
  • Both point at waste, fraud and abuse, in different places. Lee's page says she "supported efforts to cut unnecessary government spending and end fraud, waste, and abuse in government programs".2 People's Affordability plan says he "saw firsthand some of the waste, fraud, and abuse that exists in the Department of Defense".4

Where they really split

  • The 2025 tax and spending law: People says "Laurel Lee voted for the One Big Ugly Bill" and his goal is "to propose legislation to amend and/or repeal this bill".4, 3 Lee's page praises tax relief "recently enacted by Congress", including the "20% small business deduction", without naming the law.2
  • Immigration: Lee "voted for legislation that invests over $46 billion to finish the border wall".2 People says "There needs to be a much better and clearer path to citizenship".3

What each one leaves out

  • Lee's site has no issues page. Her four sections spell out how by naming bills and what they do on 4 of 4, but they give no costs or dates for anything new and no plan for a next term.2
  • People spells out how on 3 of 12 issues, names a funding source on 2, a date on 1 and a past action on 0. Most of the detail is in linked PDFs, and his stated pledges (no AIPAC money, votes he would cast) are not past actions.3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
